Christmas is nearing and the BBN crew wanted to spread cheer by creating holiday greetings to go on the radio and TV channel. We only spent two days on this project, so the greetings are all simply but sweet. For my greeting, I did a voice-over, wishing everyone a "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" After my voice over, I found Christmas music to go along with my ten-second clip. Of course, I enjoyed editing the music and adjusting the sound so the scale averaged a -6. Finding a background to go along with the audio was my least favorite part because I had higher expectations than what I was capable of doing. Once I found an image and a gif to go along with it on the internet, I started fusing it all together. Putting the whole project together and adding exponential fades to the end was my final and favorite part. Mr. Holt combined all of the students' greetings together to put on TV, hopefully you can check it out there!

Video Commercial - Magic Pen
Much like making my previous radio commercial, making a video commercial wasn't near as hard as I expected it to be. The hardest part for me was coming up with an idea to do my commercial about; creativity is not my strongest area. The product "The Magic Pen" was a cheesy idea that came to mind when I was laughing with my friend about how bad her hand writing is. The Magic Pen supposedly corrects unreadable handwriting into something everyone can read. Getting the prime shots for this project was difficult because I was limited on time and experience. Aden was very cooperative and acted out everything I asked him to. However, because of my inexperience, I was frustrated with the way I thought they were going to turn out. Once I downloaded them onto the computer and started editing, I realized they weren't as bad as I thought. Editing was my favorite part; I looked forward to finding music that went along with my voice-over and the video. The finished project is kind of corny, and doesn't look as professional as I'd hoped, but it was my first time and I will only get better from here. My first project in Digital Media was a radio commercial. It was my first experience working with Adobe Audition. I started out by recording an advertisement of a made-up athletic center called "Fitness Fanatics." We learned that there are many different elements to make a radio commercial appealing, because unlike a TV commercial, there is no video to go along with it. After I uploaded my recording to Adobe Audition, I found uplifting commercial music to go along with my advertisement. The hardest part of this project was trying to cut the music down to 30 seconds without it abruptly ending at a weird spot. I had to cut the end of the song and match it up to a point in the song that was about 25 seconds long, being careful to make sure the transition was smooth and didn't distract from the actual commercial. Considering I wasn't very familiar with Adobe Audition, this took a long time, but eventually I was able to make it sound natural. Adding my voice recording to the music and everything that followed seemed much easier. To finalize the recording and make it sound less choppy, I put cross-dissolve effects on the beginning and end of the audio. The last part I had to do was upload my finished radio commercial to Adobe Premiere Pro which allowed me to add photos to the sound. I had a lot of fun with this project because it wasn't as hard as I assumed, and the finished project was more professional than I expected.
